Microsoft Teams' New Collaborative Notes Feature Is Now In Public Preview; Learn More

Microsoft, which has been regularly updating its video calling platform Teams with new features, has today announced that the new Collaborative notes tool is now available for public preview on the public preview channel. The business hopes that by simplifying the process of producing agendas and action items, this innovation will improve the meeting experience.

According to the company, collaborative notes, which are called Loop components, sync across all platforms where they have been shared, including Outlook, Teams chat, the Loop app, Word for the web, and Whiteboard.

Users can share the Collaborative notes in a Teams conversation or by email to begin developing an agenda before a meeting. This ensures that everyone, regardless of which Microsoft software they use, can include their topics for group evaluation.

"We're excited to share a public preview of Collaborative notes, a new way to drive your work forward by collaborating on the agenda, taking notes together, and tracking follow-up tasks." "Collaborative notes eliminate the typical barrier of a single note-taker capturing the agenda and notes while also making them viewable to everyone, improving accuracy and inclusion at every stage of your meeting," stated Microsoft in a blog post.

Everyone can create and assign tasks, co-edit meeting notes, and add last-minute agenda items during the meeting. Participants, according to the firm, can click on any paragraph to see who wrote it and see who is working in the Collaborative notes at the top.

Users can also allow their team to amend notes, complete tasks as they go, and add new follow-up items from anywhere.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has officially stated that the June 5 Outlook outage was caused by a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) assault. It also included some technical insights and recommendations to avoid such assaults in a blog post.
